Enroll at Gothenburg Public Schools

Gothenburg Public Schools utilizes Enrollment Express for new and returning student registration. The online enrollment process will save both parents and school staff a great deal of time and ensure more accurate data ends up in our PowerSchool database.

For students enrolling in GPS for the first time, the information below will provide an overview of the steps in the online registration process.

STEP 1: PROVIDE BASIC INFORMATION NEEDED TO START THE PROCESS
Contact Lori Verster (lori.verster@goswedes.org, 308-537-3651 ext 9) for more information on the new student registration process. She will provide a link to the web form that will be the first step in the process.
 
After submitting the web form, you will receive a confirmation email requiring no action on your part.  As applications are received and approved, families will receive an email from powerschool@gothenburgswedes.org providing instructions on further action needed.  
 
STEP 2:  SET UP A PARENT POWERSCHOOL ACCOUNT

In order to complete the enrollment process, each family must have a parent PowerSchool account with all currently enrolled students added to that account. You will receive an email from powerschool@gothenburgswedes.org with instructions on how to create your parent account. If you encounter problems with creating a parent PowerSchool account or adding students to an existing account, please email Jo Wiggins for assistance.  Her email address is jo.wiggins@goswedes.org; in your email, be as specific as possible as to the nature of your problem.


STEP 3:  COMPLETE REQUIRED ONLINE ENROLLMENT FORMS

From your parent PowerSchool account, select the tab for the student you are enrolling and then click on the Forms link in the left column. Next click on the Enrollment tab for a listing of required enrollment forms. Enrollment forms include:
 
Enrollment Form
Health Authorization and Information
Student Contacts 
    - Add all head of household members (name, relationship to student, mailing address, phone number(s), and email address)
    - Add two emergency contacts (name, relationship to student, and phone number)

STEP 4:  PROVIDE DOCUMENTATION
Student enrollment will not be complete until parents provide the required documentation. The following documentation is required for all student enrollments:
  • Proof of residency
  • Certified Birth Certificate
  • Immunization Records
 
**Please note, all kindergarten students are required to have a physical and vision evaluation prior to starting school.
