The C-7 Girls' District Final is Friday, Feb. 24 at GHS and a number of generous individual and business are asking you to Jam the Gym!
The first 200 Gothenburg Public Schools students will have free admittance, courtesy of Robin & Lynnette Stevens, Bruce & Lori Clymer, Vibes Dance Studio, Five Star Flooring, Mayor Will Rahjes, Flatwater Bank and BW's She Shed Creative Memories by Brenda Widholm.
This district final matchup is a rivalry revived as the Lady Swedes met Scotus in three consecutive State Basketball Tournaments from 1996-1998. Scotus went on to win the C-1 State Title in all three of those seasons, the 1997 season defeating the Swedes in the Championship game.
Gothenburg is looking to return to the State Tournament for a second consecutive appearance in Lincoln after playing through the C-1 field in 2022 for fourth place.
The Swedes' game against Columbus Scotus will tip off at 6:30 p.m. in the north gym at GHS. The theme for the game is White Out.
