World Kindness Day 2024 is dedicated to promoting positivity, empathy & kindness in the digital world. Let this day serve as a reminder to spread love, support & encouragement rather than negativity or hate. Make a positive impact on social media through kindness & respect.

In September, five Dudley Elementary students auditioned and were selected to join Sing Around Nebraska, an elite ensemble. They recently rehearsed on Friday and Saturday, culminating in an incredible concert on Saturday night. These talented students joined singers from across the state to perform in a final concert. Their dedication over the past few weeks, preparing and practicing, made them shine in this wonderful group! Sing Around Nebraska gives students the chance to form lasting friendships and create cherished memories. A special thank you to Mrs. Wieseler for her dedication in preparing these students for this wonderful opportunity.
Congratulations to Audryaunna Stoner, Peyton Winney, Ellis Johnson, Eleanor Dea, and McKenna Reiman!

Seven students from Dudley Elementary attended the Region IV Principals' Leadership Conference today at UNK along with 201 other students from south central Nebraska. They participated in a variety of challenging activities, trying hard things, communicating their ideas, and working with others. I was beyond proud of our students as they stretched themselves and modeled incredible manners throughout the day. Along with activities on the indoor track, they enjoyed a tour of UNK's campus, ate in the cafeteria, and met some new friends! Proud of these leaders and look forward to what they are bringing back to our campus!

On Monday, Dudley Elementary students and staff gathered at the SWEDE football stadium for our 1st Quarter "Swede Way" assembly. We celebrated the 13,338 SWEDE TICKETS earned in the first 41 days for positive behaviors aligned with our expectations.
Students shared what the SWEDE SHIELD means to them, and names were drawn for gift certificates and games. The assembly was filled with outstanding positive energy, with students cheering each other on. A big THANK YOU to our SWEDE WAY Committee for planning this great event!

Our Swede Branch was a great success last week with our Cardinal Team tellers in charge. We love hearing the positive conversations between the tellers and the customers! Great experience for ALL!

The last day of the quarter will be here soon and we will start our day with "Fist Bump Friday" with the Girls' Golf team! We will also have a Dudley Drum Line for our Girls State Qualifier, Kaylee Olsen. Looking forward to celebrating our SWEDES!

The Kindergarten students at Gothenburg Public Schools have been fortunate to receive new hands-on literacy learning tools, thanks to the generous grant from the John Russell Applegate Grant. Last spring, Suzanne Neels, on behalf of the Kindergarten classrooms, filled out the grant application. The committee reviewed the application and contacted the school district, announcing that they were the recipients of a $2,000 grant for literacy materials.
With this funding, the Kindergarten team was able to purchase sound boards as well as phonemic awareness and phonics materials to enhance the hands-on learning experiences in the classrooms. The Kindergarten teachers are excited to incorporate these new resources into their teaching toolboxes and provide their students with engaging, interactive learning opportunities.
The Kindergarten teachers are deeply appreciative and thankful for the support provided by the John Russell Applegate Grant. This funding will greatly benefit the Kindergarten students and their literacy development.

Our Dudley students enjoyed being greeted by the Swede Softball Team on Friday! So many High 5's, Smiles, and Fist Bumps!

Happy Fist Bump Friday! This morning our Swede Softball Team will be greeting our Dudley students with a smile & a fist bump! Have a great day Swedes!

Today was opening day of the Swede Branch bank at Dudley Elementary and the customers were rolling in! Our SWEDE Team tellers did a terrific job welcoming their customers with a smile and friendly conversation. We look forward to the CARDINAL team tellers greeting our customers next Wednesday. Just a reminder that the bank will be open most Wednesday mornings from 7:40-8:05 unless communicated differently. If your child would like to participate, please complete the online permission form or stop by the Dudley Office for a paper form. It was a great morning to be a SWEDE!

First grade has enjoyed "Mystery Readers" every Friday this month! Each Reader provides three clues for the first graders to try to figure out who might be coming to their classroom - and the surprise and excitement with each Reader has been over the top! First graders have listened to and enjoyed every story that has been shared and appreciate each Reader taking time to share their love of reading. Who will be the next Reader?? The First graders can't wait to find out!

Thank you for your patience as we worked through the road construction around campus. All construction is now complete and signage has been returned to normal. As a reminder, this means if you have been coming in on 13th towards Dudley, this is now right turn only onto Avenue G. Please resume our traditional drop off and pick up procedures as outlined in the map.
