Kindergarten PE at Dudley today was a blend of National Hug Day and the World Cup! The kids were all smiles as they strategized, huddled up, and played a fun game of soccer. With Mr. Mahlberg leading the way, they showcased fantastic teamwork on the court!

Dudley Elementary 2nd Quarter Swede Way Assembly – January 6, 2025 Our second-quarter Swede Way Assembly celebrated the incredible dedication of Dudley students and staff for living out The Swede Shield values of being Respectful, Responsible, Safe, and Kind. During the first semester, an impressive 23,051 Swede Way Tickets were distributed by our staff, with 10 classrooms earning over 1,000 tickets each! We are thrilled to share that several other classrooms are extremely close to reaching the 1,000-ticket milestone—keep up the amazing work, Swedes! The assembly kicked off with Swede spirit, led by our enthusiastic GPS Cheerleaders. Students from each grade shared examples of times they witnessed someone embodying The Swede Shield and how it inspired them. Their stories reflected the positive impact of kindness, respect, and responsibility throughout our school. What’s better than earning Swede Tickets? Turning them into pizza prizes! Lucky students had their names randomly drawn and scored a special Godfather’s Pizza coupon from Cubby’s. But the fun didn’t stop there! More students were chosen to join in a fun and exciting game—and guess what? Some of our teachers couldn’t resist jumping in on the action too! Of course, every student who participated walked away a winner, with pizza coupons to celebrate their Swede spirit and skills! Our special guests, including five members of the GPS National Honor Society and GPS Believer & Achiever Taylor Burge, also added valuable insights. The National Honor Society members spoke about the values of NHS, which closely align with The Swede Shield, and shared their experiences of hard work, leadership, and service that helped them achieve membership. They also provided helpful test-taking tips to encourage and support students as they prepare for NWEA MAP testing this month. The assembly was a powerful reminder of the strength of our Swede community and the importance of supporting one another in living out our Swede Shield values every day. Here's to continuing this incredible momentum in the second semester!

In September, five Dudley Elementary students auditioned and were selected to join Sing Around Nebraska, an elite ensemble. They recently rehearsed on Friday and Saturday, culminating in an incredible concert on Saturday night. These talented students joined singers from across the state to perform in a final concert. Their dedication over the past few weeks, preparing and practicing, made them shine in this wonderful group! Sing Around Nebraska gives students the chance to form lasting friendships and create cherished memories. A special thank you to Mrs. Wieseler for her dedication in preparing these students for this wonderful opportunity.
