This week is National School Counselor's Week! We are blessed to have FOUR counselors who work hard to support students socially, emotionally, academically, and behaviorally. Our Swede counselors create environments where each student feels safe, loved, and supported. Thank you to Wendy Bartels, Michelle Stienike, Michelle Stevens, and Shauna Baker for their incredible work supporting staff and students.

At Gothenburg Public Schools, we love bringing our High School and Elementary students together—and what better way to do that than with Fist Bump Fridays? On Fridays, our older Swedes connect with our younger ones through quick, positive interactions that build community, encouragement, and school spirit.
Fist Bump Fridays give us the opportunity to highlight the incredible variety of activities our high school students are involved in—from athletics and fine arts to FFA, student leadership, and more! These moments inspire our younger Swedes to dream big and see all the possibilities ahead of them.
A simple fist bump can make someone’s day—so let’s keep spreading the energy and Swede pride every Friday!
