First grade has enjoyed "Mystery Readers" every Friday this month! Each Reader provides three clues for the first graders to try to figure out who might be coming to their classroom - and the surprise and excitement with each Reader has been over the top! First graders have listened to and enjoyed every story that has been shared and appreciate each Reader taking time to share their love of reading. Who will be the next Reader?? The First graders can't wait to find out!

Thank you for your patience as we worked through the road construction around campus. All construction is now complete and signage has been returned to normal. As a reminder, this means if you have been coming in on 13th towards Dudley, this is now right turn only onto Avenue G. Please resume our traditional drop off and pick up procedures as outlined in the map.

Our Dudley Elementary teachers are simply incredible! Thursday morning at 7:15, we gathered and in just 30 minutes, smoothly scheduled 400 P/T conferences for our K-6 students. It was the most seamless meeting ever, thanks to everyone being so well-prepared! What a great team!

The student section has been bringing all the vibes this fall season! Last night was "Dress Like a Teacher (Administrator)" night and Kalli... aka "Mr. Mroczek"... won Pep Club Fan of the Game! We hope to see everyone at tonight's football game against Chase County with a theme of Black Out and Kardashian! Go Swedes!

The Gothenburg Public Schools' Strategy #1 Team is coordinating with @ESU_10 staff to facilitate a year long book study around Educator Wellness using resources from @THBoogren. We are excited for this journey with 41 certificated and classified staff! It was a "Valuable Hour"!

Dudley students have been practicing school-wide expectations during the 1st few weeks of school. Please review the expectations for ACTIVITIES as we prepare for our first home volleyball game tonight. At football games, students may sit with an adult or above the HS section in the grandstands. #SwedesLead

Students were highly engaged in Mrs. Dea's 3rd grade science class as they tackled a scenario with problem solving, communication, and trial and error. It was fun to see them working together! May have a world record setting team too!

Swede Way tickets were introduced at Dudley Elementary on the first day of school. They are used to recognize students for following the Shield Shield! Staff carry the tickets and watch to provide specific praise to students. Guess how many tickets were given out in 3 days?

Such a fun way to introduce Positive Office Calls at our K-6th Assembly today. We've had an adult who really wanted to be the first one to sign the new banner. We may have surprised him as the 1st Positive Office Call for 24-25! Thanks Mr. Kincheloe for all you do!

Happy last "sleep" before the first day of school. We are excited to see our Dudley Elementary students tomorrow for the first day of the 2024-2025 school year!

Good Evening!
We were made aware this evening that the intersection by the bus barn is now open. This allows for a couple of critical adjustments to our drop-off and pick-up that will improve traffic flow and increase student safety.
7-12 Normal Drop-Off
K-1, 5-6 use 13th Street then left turn to Avenue G. K-1 dropoff on Avenue G. 5th & 6th continue to parking lot drop off.
2nd, 3rd, and 4th will drop off on 13th & H. This removes one extra grade from Avenue G congestion and pulls 3rd and 4th out of the parking lot, improving traffic flow and allowing students to exit on the right-hand sidewalk.
We apologize for the last-minute change. These two changes will improve student safety and increase traffic flow in the morning so we didn't want to wait to implement the changes. Thank you for being so flexible as we work to navigate our current "normal". Please give yourself a few extra minutes in the morning.
While road construction continues on Avenue G between 11th & 12th Street, please feel free to drop students off at a central location (preferably that of the youngest child) and allow them to walk to their assigned doors. If high school students are in charge of drop-off for your family, elementary students can walk to their designated locations from the high school.

We are excited for Open House tonight from 5:30-7:00. Be sure to check out the yard sign on the west side of Dudley for a fun Back To School photo. Additionally, we have some special signs in front of the big bulletin board for a fun family photo tonight! See you all soon!

Thank you to The Crossing for treating our educators to a yummy snack this morning! Your support means the world to us and we always appreciate the community's recognition of the important work we do every day!

🌟 "Be Here. Be You. Be a Swede!" 🌟 We kicked off the 2024-2025 school year today by welcoming staff back to campus! The day was jam-packed with professional development ensuring we're ready for a successful year ahead. Highlights included a heartfelt welcome from Dr. Jonas, Superintendent, informative sessions on such things as Swede Essentials, Technology, Staff Wellness, and School Safety and a warm Swede Welcome to the new TeamMates Mentoring Program Coordinator, Tabitha Venteicher. A big thank you to Flatwater Bank for providing a delicious lunch, and to everyone who presented today. We have a few more days to prep for the new school year but we're feeling energized and excited to see students at Back-to-School Night on Monday, August 12th!
